Egyptian woolly worm predicts far different winter from 1 at Tucker's Station Comments re: Tucker's Station Wooly Worm has made prediction By Paul Patton Just a short distance away from Bull Run Road's woolly worm prediction of a mild winter, one such creature in front of the Egypt Christian Church gives a different warning about the coming winter. According to the almanac there are 13 weeks of winter and there are 13 body segments to the woolly worm, including the head and the weather is to be predicted according to the color of the worm starting with the head. A few days ago I examined a woolly worm crossing the road in front of the Egypt church. It's head and the next 3 body sections were dark black, indicating that the winter will begin with severe weather. These were followed by 6 light colored body sections indicating a break in the weather with mild temperatures. The next three sections of the worm were dark indicating three more weeks of severe winter. Sorry that I didn't photograph the worm. After all is said, I guess we will just have to wait and see. -Paul Patton This story was posted on 2012-11-08 06:18:25
