Lindsey Wilson College had three individuals qualify, including John-Paul Williamson on the men's side and Sharon Ronoh and Sophie Tonneau for the women. The 57th annual men's and 33rd annual women's events will take place at the Fort Vancouver National Historic Site in Vancouver, Washington, on November 17, 2012. The women's 5K run starts at 12:30pmCT, followed by the men's 8K race at 1:45pmCT. The 32-team men's field features 21 conference/independent/unaffiliated group champions, one conference/independent/unaffiliated group runner-up and nine at-large selections, while 105 individual qualifiers are also in the field. On the women's side, the 32-team field features 22 conference/independent/unaffiliated group champions, two conference/independent/unaffiliated group runners-up and seven at-large selections, alongside 109 individual qualifiers. Williamson finished third in the Mid-South Conference Championship on Saturday to earn one of seven spots on the MSC All-Conference First Team. His time of 25 minutes and 35 seconds was the fastest posted by a freshman, giving him MSC Freshman of the Year honors and helping him qualify for nationals as an individual. Ronoh won her second straight MSC Championship on Saturday with a time of 18:18, while Tonneau earned first team all-conference honors with a sixth-place finish in 19:28. Tonneau earned her berth to nationals by finishing in the top five of individuals not on the winning team at the MSC race. The 2011 women's championship saw Ronoh finish eighth overall with a time of 17:57. - Dan White This story was posted on 2012-11-05 19:57:09
