LWC Somerset students help meet area's needs Participate in Build-A-Bed and God's Food Pantry of Somerset Click on headline for story, photo(s) By Duane Bonifer News from Lindsey Wilson College SOMERSET, KY - A group of students at the Lindsey Wilson College Somerset Community Campus recently joined together to make life easier for area residents. The students were honored for participating in the local Build-A-Bed program and also donated to the God's Food Pantry of Somerset. The statewide Build-A-Bed program targets Kentucky children living in homes with not enough beds or no beds. The six Lindsey Wilson students sponsored two area children by providing bedding and pajamas, and two of the students spent the day at an event that helped build beds. Responding to a local need for more supplies at God's Food Pantry, the students gathered more than 400 packets of noodles that were donated to the local food bank. "I'm very proud of the way the students have responded to these local needs," said LWC Somerset Community Campus Site Coordinator Kesha McClure-Hunley. - Duane Bonifer This story was posted on 2012-06-26 11:23:01
