Latest Marine to die in Afghanistan has links to Adair Co., KY

Kentucky's latest military death has ties to Adair Co, KY. Cpl. Aaron M. Faust, 22, was the grandson of Elizabeth Grant Faust, who was born and raised in Adair County, KY, and now lives in Louisville, KY -Jane Grant

FRANKFORT, KY - Gov. Steve Beshear recognized the sacrifice of a Kentucky Marine who died while supporting Operation Enduring Freedom, He made the announcement on Tuesday, April 17, 2012.



According to the Department of Defense, Cpl. Aaron M. Faust, 22, Louisville, Ky., died April 15 while supporting combat operations in Helmand province, Afghanistan. He was assigned to 2nd Battalion, 9th Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Lejeune, NC.

The Governor will order that flags at all state office buildings be lowered to half-staff from sunrise to sunset on the day of Cpl. Faust's interment for which arrangements are still pending.
