Johnson spoke Wednesday night, February 22, 2012, to Lindsey Wilson College students, faculty and staff at the Norma & Glen Hodge Center for Discipleship. A native of Franklin, KY, Johnson reflected on his more than 40 years fighting for and protecting civil rights on the state and national levels. Based in Louisville, KY, the Kentucky Commission on Human Rights is the state government agency that enforces the Kentucky Civil Rights Act and the U.S. Civil Rights Act. The Kentucky Civil Rights Act protects people from discrimination based on the protected classes of race, color, sex, religion, national origin, age, disability, family status and tobacco-smoking status.
