Kentucky Military History Museum will reopen Veterans' Day

I hope Adair Countians will visit the commonwealth's military history museum, located in a fortress-like building which overlooks downtown Frankfort. Built in 1850, the State Arsenal is now home to the Kentucky Military History Museum.

The Kentucky Military History Museum, 125 East Main Street will reopen at 2pmET/1pmCT on Veterans Day, November 11, 2011. "Kentucky Military Treasures: Selections from the Kentucky Historical Society Collections."The event is free and open to the public and will include:
- Performance by the 202nd Army Band of the Kentucky National Guard
- Performance by the Westridge Elementary School Choir
- Remarks by Maj. Gen. Edward W. Tonini, Kentucky Tourism, Arts and Heritage Secretary Marcheta Sparrow and KHS executive director Kent Whitworth
The Kentucky Military History Museum is operated by the Kentucky National Guard and the Kentucky Historical Society. -MIKE WATSON
