Over 8,000 expected in Greensburg, KY for Dakota Meyer

Medal of Honor Winner, a Green Co. HS Graduate, will be Grand Marshal of Cow Days Parade

The largest crowd in the history of Greensburg, KY is expected to be on hand for the Cow Days Parade, reception, and photo opportunity with Dakota Meyer, on Saturday, September 17, 2011.

Governor Steve Beshear, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, and Congressman Brett Guthrie, are among the dignitaries who have already accepted invitations for the occasion.




Dakota Meyer will be the Grand Marshal of the Cow Days Parade on Main Street in Greensburg starting at 1pmCT.

Immediately following, there will be a reception for the Medal of Honor winner at the Greensburg Baptist Church, 128 N. Main Street in Greensburg, KY.SGT Meyer will be available for photographs with those who wish to have them for a two hour period.

SGT. Meyer, a native of Adair County, KY is a graduate of Green County High School. His birth post office address was Greensburg, KY, because his home at the time is in the Greensburg PO delivery zone, just as his community, the Village of Clay Ridge, is in Adair County but has a Greensburg Post Office address. -LARRY SMITH, the WAVE 92.7 and The BIG DAWG, 99.9 radio stations.
