Arthur Ray Austin, 79, Edmonton, KY (d. April 3, 2011)

He was the head of a large, respected Metcalfe Co., KY family. He leaves 40 direct living descendants. He was retired from US Millwright and was a member of Wisdom Faith Community Church

Arthur Ray Austin, 79, of Edmonton, KY, died Sunday, April 3, 2011 at his home. He was the son of the late Nathan and Emma Elam Austin.

Funeral services were held 1pmCT, Thursday, April 7, 2011, at Butler Funeral Home, 201 East ST, Edmonton, KY, with burial in the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery.


He was retired from US Millwright and was a member of the Wisdom Faith Community Church.

He is survived by the following:
  • Four daughters. Kaye (Bucket) Gray of Edmonton, KY; Karen (Steve) Urbahns of Westville, IN; Charonne (Bruce) Miller of Scottsville, KY; and Lena (Robin) Hitchens of Edmonton, KY

  • Three brothers: Howard Austin and Giles Austin of Kentucky and Roscoe Austin of Indiana

  • Two sisters: Georgia Villalobos and Flora Sanders both of Indiana

  • Two brother in laws and their wives: Doug (Sonia) Anderson of Edmonton, KY; Verg (Carol) Anderson of Salina, KY

  • A sister in law: Lovella Dotson of Greensburg, KY

  • Thirteen grandchildren

  • Twenty-three great grandchildren and one great great grandchild
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Flossie, four sisters and one brother.

Butler Funeral Home, Edmonton, KY, in charge of arrangements.
