Friday, December 31, 2010 - As you well know, I am a city boy from Chicago. I was looking at columbiamagazine.com early this morning while I was consuming a Red Bull to get awake, when I saw this beast staring at me.

It was the greeting card from Buffalo Hills. I was intrigued so I asked my better half if she would be interested in dining there for lunch. Sheila kind of gave me that look and stated, "I am not sure about that buffalo stuff," but agreed to accompany me.

Well, I have had king crab from Maine, fresh lobster from South Beach, Tex-Mex from southern Texas, but I was very surprised to find the buffalo meat king of the U.S. is located right here in Columbia, KY.

Sheila ordered the chicken salad while I had the buffalo burger with all of the trimmings. Sheila had the pleasure of trying the buffalo in a sample of buffalo chili, and was thoroughly impressed as well.

We ordered 2 large bowls of chili to go so we are able to taste this delicacy later this evening too.

I am a food tasting entrepeneur who gives regular updates to you so I was very impressed to find that we have such a wonderful food alternative right here in Columbia. I was also impressed with the price of our meal, which makes it very affordable for everyone.

Thank-you to Jim and Carol Leib for the delicious lunch and the intellectual conversation about how Adair Countians are so fortunate to have this amazing opportunity right here in town.

Buffalo Hills also has a great Christian bookstore and family friendly gifts for people of all ages. Big Al Owens

Outtake: My son Wichita already ate one of the bowls of chili so I need to get off here and warm up the other bowl before my wife realizes that it is gone... -AL
