Please send Veterans Day observances for CM Events

A reminder that Veterans Day is just 5 days away. It is a very special day in this area. It will be observed Thursday, November 11, 2010. and is being added to the CM Countdowns list as a daily reminder.

Veterans Day Programs: If your Adair, Casey, Cumberland, Green, Metcalfe, Russell or Taylor County church, school, civic organization, or governmental organization is having a Veterans Day observance, this year please send using the new CM Events Listing Form, which makes it easy to remember to include all items necessary for an Events listing on ColumbiaMagazine.com.

Veterans List: We hope you'll take time to review the list of Adair Countians who have served in the Armed Services. The list includes links to the service person's status as a Prisoner of War, as a World War II veteran killed in action, as a WWI Killed in Action, and to the CM Veterans News ArchiveIf there are corrections to make to a listing, please use a Contact Form.

Old Camp Atterbury postcard a reminder that Veterans Day near

Bob Chelf of Carmel, IN found this old postcard the late Marshall Chelf of Knifley, KY, had in his extraordinary collection. Camp Atterbury is located near Edinburg, IN - Burton Ridge, KY, North - and remains a training center for the Indiana National Guard and will continues to be a memory for many soldiers who went there following induction during World War II. The postcard is printed today as a reminder that Veterans Day 2010 is just a few days away, on November 11, 2010.
