County receives grant for $35,600 toward cruisers for ACSO Adair County Sheriff's Office expects four new Ford Crown Victorias to be delivered by the end of May, 2010. Grant money will revert to County General Fund. Grant application initiated by CJE Ann Melton earlier. Cruisers should be here by end of May, Sheriff says By Ed Waggener Paperwork needed to complete the acceptance of a $35,600 toward the purchase of four Ford Crown Victoria cruisers for the Adair County Sheriff's Department was completed in a six-minute meeting of Adair Fiscal Court, Thursday morning, April 1, 2010. Six individual approvals were needed, and all were unanimously approved by the six magistrates present; Danny Goodin (1), Wid Harris (2), Sammy Baker (3), Billy Dean Coffey (5), Joe Rogers (6), and Terry Hadley (7). The grant application had been initiated by County Judge Executive Ann Melton some four months ago, she said, and the paper work was all that was needed to complete the grant. The court had voted to buy the cruisers at it's March, 2010, regular meeting, with the understanding that should the grant come through, the funds would revert to the County General Fund. Sheriff Curry told the Court that he expects the new cruisers to be delivered sometime in late May, 2010. Judge Melton presided. Also present were County Attorney Jennifer Hutchison Corbin, Sheriff Ralph Curry, and County Finance Officer Gale Cowan, who recorded the meeting. Regular meetings of the Adair Fiscal Court are each second Tuesday, at 7pmCT, in the basement of the Adair Annex, 424 Public Square, Columbia, KY. Members of Fiscal Court are Danny Goodin (1), Wid Harris (2), Sammy Baker (3), Perry Reeder (4), Billy Dean Coffey (5), Joe Rogers (6), and Terry Hadley (7). The meetings are open to the public.
