By Clara Metzmeier

The last 14 years have been rewarding ones for the Giles Society.

The Giles Board of Directors has worked diligently to offer a variety of summer events such as pottery workshops for young people, presentations about Kentuckians from history, and storytelling events for people of all ages. Other events are offered from time to time.

We have saved the log house of one of Kentucky's finest writers, Janice Holt Giles, from rotting away.

Membership donations and gifts have provided the financial support to offer workshops, programs, and to carry out historic preservation.
