Poetry by Robert Stone: Snow covers variation

Snow covers variation
-a poem by Robert Stone
I'm not kidding, I'm relaxed,
funny thoughts fill my head,
a haunting voice cries out
take care to find the sacred way
take care because it's snowing
and all will soon be sameness.
-- Robert Stone, 13 April 2008
A group of friends met to write and read poetry for several years. One of our exercises was the "word-list poem" where each person put in one or two random words. Each of us then wrote a poem (or two) using all those words. The list for this poem was:

kidding - snowing - relaxed - care - head - funny - thought - haunting - voice - find - sacred - way

Our word list poems only rarely had titles but I have given this one a title for ColumbiaMagazine. -Robert Stone
