Obituary: Hallie Mae Scott, 98, native of Adair Co., KY

Mrs. Scott was a member of a very large, highly regarded Gradyville, KY family. She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene, Cookeville, TN. Link for online condolence below

Hallie Mae Scott, 98, Cookeville, TN, died Wednesday, November 4, 2009, at her home in Cookeville, TN.

The funeral service will be Thursday, November 5, 2009, at 6pmCT, at Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home, 59 North Jefferson AV, Cookeville, TN with visitation after 3pmCT, Thursday, November 5, 2009. Additional service and burial will be Saturday, November 7, 2009, at 10:00amCT, at Chapel Hill Gardens South, 11333 Central AV, Oak Lawn, IL 60453.


Hallie Mae Scott, Adair Co., KY native (1911-2009)

A native of Adair Co., KY, she was born April 12, 1911, a daughter of the late U.L. and Ada Finn Rogers, of Gradyville, Adair Co., KY, and died November 4, 2009, in Cookeville, TN, at the age of 98 years, 6 months, and 23 days.

She was the widow of Roy Scott, and was a member of the Church of the Nazarene of Cookeville, TN.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a granson, Scott Sanders, and eight brothers and sisters: Ernest, herman, Ogle, Lewis, Harel, Arvist, Cecil, and Lee Rogers, and Beatrice Scott, Eurene Murrell, Stella Collins, and Marie Kemp. Survivors include the following:
  • Three daughters: Geneva and husband grady Cheschire, Patricia and husband Allen Cape, all of Cookeville, TN; and Carole Sanders, Sparta, TN

  • One brother and one sister: Haskel Rogers and Elva Gabehart, both of Columbia, KY

  • Six grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren, along with a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
