Obituary: Maxie Eudell Blaydes, 78, Green Co., KY native

Mr. Blaydes was a member of a large, respected Green Co. family and was a member of the Maple Hill UMC, a lifelong farmer, and had formerly worked at General Electric and Phillip Morris.

Mr. Maxie Eudell Blaydes, 78, died Monday, August 10, 2009, at the Medco Center in Campbellsville, KY.The funeral service for Mr. Maxie Eudell Blaydes, Campbellsville, KY, will be conducted at 11:00amCT, Thursday, August 13, 2009, at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home, 206 S. Main ST, Greensburg, KY, withburial to follow in Maple Hill Cemetery, Mell Ridge, Green Co., KY. Bro. John L. Blakey willl be officiating. Visitation is requested from 3:30 to 9:30pmCT on Wednesday, August 12, 2009, at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home and after 7:00am, Thursday, August 13, 2009, until the time of the funeral.



Mr. Maxie Eudell Blaydes (November 27, 1930 - August 10, 2009)

Mr. Maxie Eudell Blaydes of Campbellsville, Kentucky, son of the late Mac Gobel Blaydes and Hallie Edwards Blaydes, was born on November 27, 1930 in Green Co., Kentucky and departed this life on Monday, August 10, 2009 at the Medco Center of Campbellsville, KY. He was 78 years, eight months and 14 days of age.

He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Maple Hill United Methodist Church. He was a lifelong farmer, and formerly worked for General Electric and Phillip Morris.

He united in marriage to Carolyn Martin on December 22, 1962 who survives.

Other survivors include the following:
  • A daughter and son-in-law: Teresa and Paul King of Summershade, KY

  • Two grandchildren: Jayme Forbis Logston of Canmer, KY; and Kyle Brandon Forbis, Summershade, KY
  • Three great-grandchildren: Caleb Logston, Cadence Logston and Collin Logston all of Canmer, KY

  • Two sisters: Geraldine Jones of Edmonton, KY and Genola Emmert and her husband R.H. of Indiana

  • A brother-in-law: Othel Jeffries of Green Co. KY
  • Two sisters-in-law: Faye Blaydes of Green County and Ruby Blaydes of Illinois; and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was also preceded in death by two brothers and a sister: Deedie Ray Blaydes, Thomas Shreve Blaydes and Beedie May Jeffries.

Pallbearers will be Ronnie Jones, Geral David Jones, Joey Clark, Douglas Clark, Wayne Allen Clark, and Nelson Pickett

Honorary pallbearers will be Sammie and Shelby Jeane Bryant, Betty Scott, James Dewitt, Perri Warren, Stephanie Mitchell, Susan Halliday, and Doc Halliday
