The Boatman opens at Columbian Theatre at 2pm today CALEB WHITE Good crowd at showing in at Playhouse Theater, UL, last night Adair Countian Caleb White's movie, The Boatman, will be shown this afternoon at 2:00pm at the Columbian Theatre. The movie was filmed in Adair County at Mt. Carmel Boat Ramp Park on Green River lake, at the home of the writer/director's parents on Beech Top Road, and in Cane Valley. The movie stars Kathy Perkins of Campbellsville. Several Adair Countians have parts in the hour long movie, including Cathy Rogers, the daughter of Joe and Sandy Rogers; Don Neat, Cane Valley, and White, the director and co-director of the film. Kate Holland, the daughter of Mike and Cheryl Scott Holland of Bowling Green and the granddaughter of of Kenneth and Norma Scott of Bliss, KY, is also in the cast. The movie is a modern day adaptation of the story of the boatman in Greek mythology who ferries souls across the River Styx from this life to the next. A couple of scores for the movie were written by Keith Holmes, Taylorsville, KY. Holmes is Caleb White's brother in law, and also co-wrote the movie. Admission to the movie is free. DVDs will be available for sale at $10 each. Movie posters will be available for $2.00 each. "It's pretty awesome," Debbie White said. "We saw it last night at the Playhouse on the University of Louisville Campus. I don't think anybody was disappointed."
