Tourist group going after bus tours for this area Somerset, KY- Vicki Kidd, President/CEO of Southern and Eastern Kentucky Tourism Development Association (SEKTDA) and Jeff Crowe, National Scenic Byways Director, traveled to Grapevine, Texas on January 27, 2007, to attend the American Bus Association (ABA) 2007 American Bus Marketplace. This is the motorcoach and group travel industry's leading business event. "Marketplace offers an invaluable opportunity to build business relationships and learn what is new in the motorcoach industry," Vicki Kidd said. "This marketplace allows face to face opportunities with travel industry professionals who can help Southern Kentucky businesses grow and offers educational seminars with top-rated speakers or industry experts." SEKTDA travels to these marketplaces to represent Adair and 46 other Southern and Eastern Kentucky counties the organization serves. "Many tourism commissions or businesses do not have the opportunity to educate these motorcoach companies about their establishments," Kidd said. "This is just another service provided to the area for free by SEKTDA thanks to Congressman Hal Rogers." This story courtesy Columbia-Adair County Chamber of Commerce, Sue Stivers, Executive Director and SEKTDA board member. For more information about SEKTDA please contact Vicki Kidd at 606-677-6099 or vkidd@tourseky.com. The mission of SEKTDA is to enhance the existing and potential tourism industry throughout Southern and Eastern Kentucky through tourism development, promotion and education.
