The Adair County Public Library has received many new books during the month of May.

The library would like to remind everyone to spend some time reading this summer. This is especailly important if you have school-age children. Research shows that on an average students can lose up to 2.6 months of grade level equivalency in reading and math skills during summer breaks.

If there are books that your child wants to read during the summer and the library does not have them do not forget about inter-library loan. Your public library can borrow many materials from different libraries.

Here is a short list of the new books available for summer-time reading :

Adult Fiction:
  • The Good Wife Strikes Back by Elizabeth Buchan
  • Full of Grace by Dorothea Benton
  • Frank Fat Chance by Deborah Blumenthal
  • On Off by Colleen McCullough
  • The Whole World Over by Julia Glass
Adult Non-Fiction:
  • The Journey by Billy Graham
  • Giada's Family Dinners by Giada De Laurentiis
