49th Annual Mark Twain Marching Band Exhibition From Tony Streeval The tradition of marching band excellence continued on Saturday night, August 29, 2026, as Adair County proudly hosted the 49th Annual Mark Twain Marching Band Exhibition in Columbia. Celebrating nearly five decades of marching band tradition, this year's exhibition brought 15 marching bands together for an evening filled with music, pageantry, school spirit, and outstanding performances. The event gave student musicians the opportunity to take the field, perform the shows they have worked so hard to prepare, and share the excitement of marching band with family, friends, and fans. Adair County Takes the Field The Adair County Marching Band proudly represented its school and community as one of the participating bands. After countless hours of rehearsals, preparation, and hard work, the students brought their 2026 production to the field with pride, energy, and determination. For the students, performing at an event with such a long-standing tradition was another memorable milestone in their marching band journey. 15 Bands Celebrate a 49-Year Tradition The 2026 exhibition featured 15 participating bands, making Columbia the center of a tremendous celebration of marching music Saturday evening. For 49 years, the Mark Twain Marching Band Exhibition has provided young musicians with an opportunity to perform, develop their skills, build friendships, and celebrate the dedication and teamwork required to be part of a marching band. The exhibition is more than an evening of performances. It represents a tradition that has continued for nearly half a century and brings communities together in support of their students. Thank You to the Community Adair County extends a heartfelt thank-you to all 15 participating bands, students, directors, staff members, parents, volunteers, sponsors, and spectators who helped make the 49th annual exhibition a success. A special thank-you goes to everyone who worked behind the scenes to organize and host the event. Their time and dedication helped make the evening possible.
