T.J. Health Columbia to celebrate 10 years of service A decade ago, access to medical care in Columbia looked uncertain. From January 2011 through early 2016, leaders in Columbia and Adair County realized their community was in jeopardy of losing their only hospital, the hub of medical care for the community, as debt had escalated to unmanageable levels. In October of 2015, officials from Adair County Public Hospital Corporation, Adair County Hospital District and T.J. Regional Health announced the intent of T.J. Regional Health in Glasgow, Kentucky to acquire Westlake Regional Hospital and its clinics. On February 11, 2016, the acquisition was completed, and Westlake Regional Hospital became T.J. Health Columbia. Since then, T.J. Regional Health has continued to invest in and expand health care options in Adair County, including renovations to the laboratory space, earning Level IV Trauma Center designation and Acute Stroke Ready Hospital Certification, and the recently announced Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation Program. T.J. Health Columbia will mark a decade of caring for Columbia at a special 10th Birthday Celebration with free lunch, cupcakes, and kids activities from 11amCT to 1pmCT on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, at 901 Wellness Way, Columbia, KY.
