Plow Day kicked off the spring season at HGR The 15th annual Spring Plow Day Festival kicked off the spring season at Homeplace on Green River on Saturday, April 25, 2026, with old-fashioned mule and horse plow teams, a draft horse meet and greet, black smithing, lard rendering, tin smithing, flint knapping, and tanning demonstrations, plus bounce houses, face painting, and pony rides for the kids, and food trucks, hay rides, and live music. Board Member Lyn Stanton said, "The event went great! We were blessed with perfect weather, and thankfully the rain held off and made the mule plowing demonstrations possible. Our community really showed up for us and it was wonderful to see so many people enjoying the day, supporting local vendors, connecting with one another and celebrating our agricultural heritage." Sponsors of Spring Plow Day included One Cross Community Health, Citizen's Bank, PriceLess IGA, Sandusky Sales, Taylor County Bank, Squires and Lee, LR Petty Funeral Home, Arnold Feed & Seed, Taylor County Tire Sales, Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home, Franklin Nissan, Stotts Phelps McQueary Funeral Home, Little House Fabrics, Longhunters Coffee & Tea, Science Hill Feed & Pet Supply, and Knifley Ag.
