Tremendous fun at the Fall Heritage Festival at HGR By Lyn Stanton Program Director, Homeplace on Green River The Fall Heritage Festival, held at Homeplace on Green River on Saturday, September 7, 2024, was a perfect way to kick off the autumnal season. Approximately 1300 guests attended and enjoyed a variety of great attractions. The weather was ideal, with a touch of coolness and plenty of sunshine, setting the perfect festive mood for the season. The festival was a melting pot of entertainment, featuring live music all day on the brand-new One Cross Stage with headliners Redwire Bluegrass Band, a wide array of delicious food from local companies, and a diverse selection of unique craft vendors. It was a feast for the senses and a celebration of local talent and culture. Kids enjoyed the bounce houses and tried their hand with a pole in the fishing derby and at the bow with the Lindsey Wilson College Archery Team. The Taylor Co 4H livestock club had animals, games to educate and delight visitors, and pumpkins and fresh produce for sale. Guests got to see how lard is rendered in antique kettles and how Sorghum is pressed with mule power. There was a tanning demonstration, a flint knapping demo, a wood shingles-making demonstration, and tours of the historic Tate House. It was a fabulous day for community members of all ages! We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed to the success of the Fall Heritage Festival. Our incredible partners, volunteer demonstrators, and volunteer workers, along with our many corporate sponsors and members, played a crucial role in making this event possible. We can't wait to make it even better next year, so save the date (September 6th, 2025) Today! Special thanks to The Healing Place of Campbellsville, The Taylor County 4H Livestock Club, The Lindsey Wilson College Archery Team, the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife, Cub Run Cattle and Sorghum, The Green River Bee Keepers, The Liberty Nature Center, The Adair County FFA, One Cross Community Health, NextEra Energy and Resources, Campbellsville Rentals, Community Medical Services, Humble Farms, and everyone who made this event possible!
