Soccer: LWC women look to bounce back at home opener

The No. 14-ranked Lindsey Wilson women's soccer team looks to return to form against (RV) Georgia Gwinnett at 7pmCT on Tuesday evening at Walter S. Reuling Stadium, 151 Holloway Drive, Columbia, KY. The contest will be the first home match of the season for Lindsey Wilson.

The Blue Raiders return to the pitch after a 6-1 loss to the No. 2-ranked William Carey (MS) during their season opener. Alicia Thoresen scored the lone Lindsey Wilson goal off a set piece via a Britt Tonis corner kick.


During the contest, goalkeeper Maya Caon moved into eighth position for all-time saves in a career at Lindsey Wilson.

The Grizzlies are fresh off a 1-0-1 week with a 6-1 win against No. 18-ranked SCAD Savannah (GA) while their last match ended in a 0-0 tie to No. 19-ranked Truett McConnell. Victoria Watson leads all Grizzlies in goals and points. There is a six-way tie for assists with Victoria Watson, Mariana Clarke, Kendra Davis, Damaris Gaines, Aurora Miglio, and Arley Valle with one apiece.
