Otis Dutton, 90, Russell County, KY (1931-2022) Otis Dutton, of Russell Springs, KY passed away Friday, August 5, 2022, at Russell County Hospital. He was 90 years of age. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed spending time antiquing. He was a serious UK Wildcat fan, and all his family knew not to bother him during the UK ballgames. Otis was also a well-known croquet player who won many championships, both locally and nationally. He was a member of the Salem United Baptist Church and had served proudly as a deacon since 2008. Many people knew Otis as the former proprietor of Dutton's Bait Shop and later, Dutton's Shoes. Born on September 1, 1931, in Russell Springs, he was the only child of the late Samuel Vance and Alma Ruth Cooper Dutton. Survivors include a daughter, Jennifer Lynn Johnson, of Nicholasville; six grandchildren, Danny Allen Johnson, Christopher Vance Johnson, Amanda Renee Weston, Jonathan Otis Johnson, and Hillary Elaine Johnson; nine great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and a close family friend, Diane Hainey, of Russell Springs. In addition to his parents, Otis is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Lois Marie Dutton, who passed away March 11, 2018; two sons, Cliff Otis Dutton and Jeffrey Lane Dutton; a daughter, Melody Irene Coffey; and a grandson, Jeffrey Lane Dutton, Jr. Funeral services are 11:00 AM Tuesday, August 9, 2022, at Salem United Baptist Church, with Bro. Larold Gosser and Bro. Ben Hammond officiating. Burial will follow in Salem Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-8pmCT Monday, August 8, 2022, at Bernard Funeral Home, and from 9am Tuesday morning until time of services at the church. Pallbearers will be Danny Allen Johnson, Paul Coffey, Vance Johnson, Drake Johnson, Jonathan Johnson, and Isaac Johnson. Honorary pallbearers are Ryan Johnson, Caleb Johnson, and Vinger Bennett.
