2006 Adair Genealogical Society Calendar now on sale Calendar is photographic history of Adair County Courthouse By Lila Ford Adair County Genealogical Society Editor Phone: 270-634-0717 Photo follows this story The Adair County Genealogical Society has collected photo's and drawings of our courthouse and published them in a 2006 Courthouse Calendar. Drawings and photos cover the courthouse from the beginning to the present day. The pictures show the many changes which have transformed our courthouse into it's present day look. For those that do not know it's history, the original courthouse would have been 200 years old next year. The original courthouse was torn down in 1884 and a newer courthouse was built. The older courthouse was one of 44 in the state of Kentucky that was not damaged or destroyed during the Civil War. Calendars can be obtained at two locations:
