LaVerne Rhodes, 86, Campbellsville, KY (1936-2022)

LaVerne Rhodes of Campbellsville passed away on Friday, June 24, 2022. She was 86 years old.

The funeral service will be held at 1pmET on Tuesday, June 28, 2022, at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home, 418 Lebanon Ave., Campbellsville, KY, officiated by Rev. Don Gown and Pastor Myren Howard. Entombment will follow in Campbellsville Memorial Gardens.

Visitation is requested from 5pmET until 8pmET on Monday, June 27th at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home.


LaVerne Rhodes, daughter of the late Omer Williams and Willard Logan Williams, was born February 21, 1936 in Taylor County, Kentucky.

LaVerne was a Christian woman and was baptized in Green River when she was eleven. As a child, she joined Pikes Ridge Baptist Church and later joined Green River Memorial Baptist Church where she remained a member until the time of her passing.

LaVerne worked for four years at the ASC office, Union Underwear for twenty years, Kentucky Governor Louie B. Nunn Safety Department and worked her last eight years before retirement in the office of the Taylor County High School.

She united in marriage to Walter D. Rhodes April 4, 1969.

Besides her husband, Walter Rhodes of Campbellsville, LaVerne is survived by fourteen nieces and nephews: Patricia Pierce, Richard Williams, Judy McCormack, Ronnie Hearon, Diana Gordon, Sheila Walsh, Ronda Maxwell, Peggy Strader, Donna Harlow, Randy McCubbin, Greg McCubbin, John McCubbin, Butch Shive and Doug Shive; several great and great-great-nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.

She was also preceded in death by five siblings: Christine Shive, Barbara Hearon, John Richard Williams, Geneva McCubbin and Golden Williams and one niece, Lana Martin.

Expressions of sympathy requested to be donations to Gideon Bibles, Green River Memorial Baptist Church or Green River Memorial Baptist Church Cemetery and may be made at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home.
