Weather outlook improving for this afternoon

Mike Keltner, Director of Adair County Emergency Management, sends word of a severe weather outlook issued by the National Weather Service in Louisville, KY, for an area that includes Adair and all surrounding counties.

In a statement released at 2:28amCT on Wednesday, June 8, 2022, NWS cautioned:
Much of the morning hours will remain dry. However, multiple rounds of strong to severe thunderstorms will be possible this afternoon and evening. The primary storm threats are isolated damaging winds and large hail. The tornado risk is very low. The main time frame of concern is roughly 2 to 11 PM.
In an update released at 7:46amCT, the Storm Prediction Center updated their outlook for severe weather this afternoon, changing the risk to "Low" for Adair and surrounding counties. According to the latest forecasts, the best chances for severe storms will be over north central Kentucky and southern Indiana.

The latest word from the National Weather Service in Louisville shows a better outlook for Southern Kentucky, with severe weather seeming less likely the afternoon for Adair and surrounding counties.
