Tennis: LWC begins play at NAIA National Championship Tuesday

The Lindsey Wilson tennis teams begin play at the NAIA National Championship this week at the Mobile Tennis Center in Mobile, AL.

The women's team, which holds the No. 9-seed, is slated to face No. 24-seeded IU East (IN) to open the tournament on Tuesday at 1:30pmCT. The two teams met earlier this season on March 17th when the Blue Raiders swept the Red Wolves 7-0.

The No. 7-seeded men's team received an automatic bid into the competition after capturing the program's 17th Mid-South Conference regular season and tournament titles. With the automatic bid, the Blue Raiders earned a first-round bye and will play the winner of No. 23-seeded Midland (NE) and No. 10-seeded Middle Georgia State on Wednesday at 9amCT.

It is the 19th appearance in the National Championships for the men's side while the women will appear for the 17th time in program history.

When available, results and recaps for each day of the competition will be available at lindseyathletics.com.
