J.D. Pruitt, 86, Green County, KY (1935-2022)

J.D. Pruitt was born June 12, 1935, in Green County, Kentucky to the late Dallas and Hattie Bagby Pruitt. He departed this life Saturday, May 14, 2022, having attained the age of eighty-six years, eleven months and two days.

He was a United States Air-force Veteran, serving during the Korean War. He was a former member of the Green County Fire Department. He was on the Green County Library Board, a Kentucky Colonel and a member of the Green County Historical Society. He was also a member of the Rod Lowe Post 124 American Legion, Greensburg, KY and a member of the Greensburg Masonic Lodge #54 F & AM.



He made a profession of faith in Christ in 1962 and was a member of Brush Creek Baptist Church, where he served as clerk for 50 plus years and served on the board of trustees for several years.

He is survived by his wife of sixty-three years, Mary Catherine Bradshaw Pruitt, one daughter: Jaye Alison Pruitt Lee and her husband John Lee of Olive Branch, Mississippi, one sister: Betty McFelia of Greensburg, two sisters-in-law: Marilyn Pruitt and Beachy Marcum, both of Greensburg, two grandchildren: Jay Nicholas Lee of Olive Branch, Mississippi and Nicole Catherine Lee Cannon and her husband Steven of Concord, New Hampshire, a special grand-dog: Felix. Also he is survived by many Pruitt and Bradshaw nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for J.D. Pruitt will be conducted 10amCT Wednesday, May 18, 2022, at the Foster-Toler-Curry Funeral Home with John Lee officiating. Burial will follow in the Bennett Cemetery with full Military Honors provided by the Marion County Veteran's Honor Guard.

Visitation is requested from 5-8pm Tuesday, May 17, and after 7am Wednesday, May 18, 2022 until the funeral hour.

Masonic Services will be conducted by the Greensburg Masonic Lodge #54 F & AM at 6:30pm Tuesday, May 17 at the funeral home. All Master Masons should meet at the lodge at 5:30pmCT.

The family has requested that expressions of sympathy be donations to The Gideons Bible Fund. These can be made at the funeral home.

Pallbearers: Jeff Bradshaw, Daniel Bradshaw, Russell Bradshaw, Jonathan Bradshaw, Chad Heath and Tim Shuffett.
