LWC wraps up competition at USA Archery Outdoor Regional

Williamsburg, KY - The Lindsey Wilson archery team wrapped up competition at the USA Archery Outdoor Regional on Friday afternoon at the UC Sports Complex.

The Blue Raiders racked up 19 top-4 podium finishes at the event with the men's recurve team and men's bowhunter team sitting atop the podium in first place. Upon the completion of the event, T Sanchez (recurve), Jacob Cook (barebow), Sarah McCarthy (barebow), and Wyatt Burtts earned All-Region honors.


The men's recurve team took first place as Christian Blair, Gabriel Crenshaw, and Sanchez teamed up. The men's compound trio of Evan Mahanna, Taylor Bell, and Wyatt Burtts also claimed a first-place finish.

The women's recurve pairing of Layla Blevins, Casie Metcalf, and Ryli Valliere finished in third place. The trio of Casey Stickfort, Sarah McCarthy, and Britney McCarthy claimed a third-place finish in the women's barebow.

Olivia Poston, Abigail Kaysinger, and Natalie Brockman finished in third place in the women's team compound event. Dylan Hamilton, Nathaniel Bush, and Jacob Cook joined forces in the men's barebow to finish in fourth. Victoria Johnson, Jessica Heady, and Anna Krampe rounded out team play with a fourth-place finish in the compound event.

Individually, Sanchez claimed third place during the men's recurve, defeating teammate Crenshaw in the silver medal shootout. On the women's side, Sarah McCarthy finished in third place during the women's barebow after defeating Britney McCarthy.

Alexis Statton finished in fourth place during the women's recurve event. Taylor finished in fourth place during the men's compound as Cook claimed fourth place in the men's barebow.

Valliere and Sanchez took second place in the mixed team recurve as Britney McCarthy and Cook claimed third place during the mixed team barebow. Brockman and Taylor added another third-place finish during the mixed compound event. Krampe and Burtts closed out the mixed events with a fourth-place finish in compound.

Lindsey Wilson returns to action tomorrow morning for action in the Mid-South Conference Outdoor Championships.
