COMMUNITY NEWS: Mark and Melissa Parrish buying Flatwoods Grocery and Grill

Flatwoods, KY. August 2, 2005. Mark and Melissa Parrish are buying the Flatwoods Gocery and Grill, 3550 Burkesville RD (South KY 61), Columbia, KY., from Clifton and Phyllis Curry.

The Parrishes will take over on Monday, September 5, 2005.


Curry's Pawn Shop, operated by Dewayne Curry, will have a new location in town soon.

Melissa and Mark Parrish plan to use the space now occupied by Curry's Pawn Shop for a consignment shop.

Phyllis Curry: Completing 11 years at Flatwoods Grocery and Grill



2005-08-03 - Flatwoods, KY - Photo Ed Waggener. Phyllis Curry, the lady with the million-watt smile who served thousands of Flatwoods Grocery and Grill's signature tenderloin sandwiches and breakfasts, will be turning over the operation to new owners Mark and Melissa Parrish on September 5, 2005, "Almost 11 years to the day," she said. Phyllis and husband Clifton bought the store from Arlis Turner in 1994.
