Academic Team experience comes full circle Click headline for story with photo The Academic Team experience now comes full circle. Former Academic Team member and State Finalist at Adair County High School Brittany Curry is now a State Finalist Coach at Letcher County Central High School in Whitesburg, Kentucky. At the State Championships, she caught up with her old coach Brett Reliford, who is fielding another set of competitors from Adair County schools at State this year. Curry had led her team at Letcher County Central to their first Quick Recall appearance at State in the last five years, along with a host of individual competitors who advanced. Curry described the experience of coaching as being a unique look at the other side of the competitive experience, saying that she sees so many coaching elements that were described during her years as a player. Reliford noted that he was beaming with pride to see her there with her team and that he remembers fondly how competitive and flat out good the teams were with Curry on it. "Nothing means more than to see her carrying on the tradition and succeeding at the highest level," he said. This story was posted on 2022-03-19 15:08:23
