Turkey Neck Bend Ferry in Monroe Co. reopened

By Wes Watt

Bowling Green, KY - The Turkey Neck Bend Ferry on KY 214 in Monroe County has reopened. The ferry had been closed for multiple weeks for repairs. Repairs for one of the tugboats have been completed and inspected by the U.S. Coast Guard. The second tugboat is out of service for repairs and is undergoing further evaluation to determine what repairs need to be made to return it to operation.

Two new tugboats have been funded. The contracted was awarded to Grandview Welding & Equipment Sales of Tompkinsville for fabrication of both tugboats to be delivered later this year.
