Lorraine (Rainy) Robertson Jones, 73, Russell Springs, KY (1948-2022)

Lorraine "Rainy" Robertson Jones of Russell Springs passed away on Monday, January 17, 2022, at the Russell County Hospital. She was 73 years old.

Funeral services are scheduled for 10amCT on Friday, January 21, 2022, at Bernard Funeral Home, 367 N. Main St., Russell Springs, KY, with Brother Richie Curtis and Brother John Bennett officiating. Burial will follow in Jones Family Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 5pmCT until 8pmCT on Thursday, January 20, 2022, and will continue on Friday, January 21, 2022, from 8amCT until time of services, at Bernard Funeral Home.


Born on March 30, 1948, in Russell County, Kentucky, she was a daughter of the late Kermit and Odell Foley Robertson. Rainy was a homemaker and a retired dairy farmer. She was a member of New Friendship United Baptist Church and attended Dunnville First Baptist Church. Rainy was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She was known throughout the area as being the best cook around. Rainy was a big animal lover, especially cats, dogs, and horses. She and her husband, Johnny, enjoyed racing their horses in their spare time.

Survivors include her husband, Johnny Jones, of Russell Springs, whom she wed on November 28, 1967; one son, Scott Jones of Russell Springs; one daughter, Tiffany Lakes of Danville; five grandchildren, Jeremy (and Keli) Jones, Trina Jones, Tabatha Jones, Trace Lakes, and Trayden Lakes; two great-grandchildren, Brody Jones and Rudy Jones; four brothers, Mike (and Bonnie) Robertson of Russell Springs, Mitchell (and Debra) Robertson of Russell Springs, Walter Robertson of Russell Springs, and Terry (and Gail) Robertson of Jamestown; two sisters, Beverly (and Brent) Kelsey of Russell Springs and Brenda (and Larry) Smith of Jamestown; and her mother-in-law, Norma Jones of Jamestown.

In addition to her parents, Rainy was preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, Priscilla Jones; her sister-in-law, Helen Robertson; and her father-in-law, Rollin Jones.

Rainy's pallbearers are Scott Jones, Jeremy Jones, Mike Robertson, Mitchell Robertson, Walter Robertson, and Terry Robertson.
