Lena Cordelia Forrest Brockman, 91, Adair County, KY (1930-2021) Lena Cordelia Forrest Brockman, 91, of Columbia, Kentucky, died Thursday, December 23, 2021 at her residence. She was born September 3, 1930, in Taylor County, Kentucky to the late Alfred Lee and Maggie Belle Leonard Forrest. She was a member of Knifley Christian Church. She was a retired educator in the Adair County School System. She retired from Knifley Grade Center where she spent the majority of her 32 year career. She began teaching in a one room school in Taylor County where she met her husband, William Aldus Brockman, whom she wed on December 22, 1950. Their marriage lasted 64 years until his death in March 2015. Mrs. Brockman was a lifelong learner who enjoyed reading and traveling. Her influence will impact her students lives for many years to come. She was most proud of her family, loved her children and grandchildren and delighted in their accomplishments. Survivors include: Three daughters - Janella (Carlos) Sullivan of Russell Springs, Inette Goodin of Columbia, Dr. Lavonne Brockman of Atlanta Two sons - Dwain (Theresa) Brockman of Knifley, Neil (Angela) Brockman of Alabama 16 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends In addition to her husband, Mrs. Brockman was preceded in death by a son, Aldus Lamar Brockman in June 2020, plus three sisters and four brothers, Martha Gabehart, Patsy Piercy, Emma Blanche Sanders, Alfred, Walter, Robert and Russell Forrest. Funeral service - Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at 10amCT at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home with Dr. Paul Patton officiating. Visitation after 4 Tuesday. Burial in Abner Brockman Cemetery Expressions of sympathy may be made to the E.K.U. Hillary Hadley Memorial Scholarship Fund, Hosparus-Green River or the charity of the donor's choice and may be left at the funeral home. Grissom-Martin Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
