By Kyle Jackson

Columbia, MO - The No. 11-ranked and No. 2-seed Lindsey Wilson men's soccer team lost to No. 10-ranked and No. 1-seed Columbia (MO) 3-0 this afternoon in the final of the NAIA Opening Round Columbia (MO.) The Blue Raiders (14-3-2, 10-1 MSC), were outshot by the Cougars (13-2-3, 6-0-2 AMC) 17-4 this afternoon with a 9-0 shot on goal mark.

The hosts were the first to score in the match after Nathan Durdle finished off a chance in the box for the Cougars to make it 1-0 in the 26th minute. Columbia controlled the tempo in the first half putting five shots on goal in a flurry of chances forcing Henrique Cavalini into four saves before the halftime break.

The Cougars doubled their advantage in the 61st minute as Durdle got on the score sheet again this time putting his head on the ball in the box finishing off a cross from his teammate Carter Redford for the 2-0 lead. Durdle got his hat-trick in the 85th minute finishing off a corner kick opportunity for the Cougars.
