Volleyball: LWC set for road trip to Pikeville

The No. 22-ranked Lindsey Wilson volleyball team will play their final two matches of the regular season this week starting with a trip to Pikeville (Ky.) tonight. First serve from UPike Gym is scheduled for 5pmCT tonight.

The Blue Raiders (19-5, 11-3 MSC) enter the match after a three-set sweep over Freed-Hardeman (TN) in their final home match last week. The victory was the 16th sweep of the season for the Blue Raiders.


This season, Lindsey Wilson is hitting .278 - the fifth-best mark in the NAIA - while Radaisy Valdez continues to lead the NAIA in hitting percentage at .466.

Pikeville (5-23, 2-12 MSC) enters tonight's game after sweeping Alice Lloyd (KY) 3-0 to end a four-game losing streak. The Bears out killed the Eagles 43-21 while hitting .291 percent to win only their fifth game this season.

The Bears are hitting .116 this season while averaging 8.9 kills per set. Hunter Clewis leads the side in kills per set averaging 2.76 and digs per set averaging three per contest. Cheyenne Martinez leads the team in assists per set with 4.23.

This will be the 38th all-time meeting between these two programs with the Blue Raiders leading the all-time series 36-1.
