According to a news release from Tracy Aaron, Health Education Director/PIO with the Lake Cumberland District Health Department, COVID-19 cases are declining in the District, with two notable exceptions.

Positive COVID 19 cases reported this past week was 559, which is the lowest number of positive cases since the week of July 31st. We have two counties (Adair and Casey) that are in the orange, which means that accelerated spread is occurring (greater than 10 - 25 cases per 100K).

Not coincidentally, Adair and Casey have the lowest vaccination rates in the district, as of 10/20/2021:
  • State - 62.00%
  • Taylor - 54.43%
  • Pulaski - 51.32%
  • Russell - 47.77%
  • Green - 43.11%
  • McCreary - 42.75%
  • Wayne - 42.79%
  • Cumberland - 42.08%
  • Clinton - 40.89%
  • Adair - 39.31%
  • Casey - 36.78%
"Our COVID-19 numbers continue to drop, which is excellent news for everyone," said Amy Tomlinson, Executive Director of the Lake Cumberland District Health Department. Says LCDHD: Help us keep the positive cases decreasing, GET VACCINATED.
