Volleyball: LWC set for non-conference clash with Fisk

The No. 21-ranked Lindsey Wilson volleyball team is set to halt conference play for the time being tonight as they head to Nashville, TN to take on Fisk (TN). First serve is set for 6pmCT.

The Blue Raiders (17-4, 10-2 MSC) enter the match on a three-game win streak after downing Bethel (Tenn.) in straight sets Tuesday night. Alexis Smith led the way for the Blue Raiders in the match hitting .375 for nine kills on the evening.


This season, Lindsey Wilson is hitting .280 - the fifth-best mark in the NAIA - as their 12.83 assists per set is the 10th best average in the country. Meanwhile, Radaisy Valdez continues to lead the NAIA in hitting percentage at a .482.

Fisk (8-18, 4-2 GCAC) enters tomorrow's game on a two-game losing streak and has just recently lost to fellow Mid-South Conference opponent Freed-Hardeman (Tenn.) in a 3-0 sweep on October 14th.

This season the Bulldogs are hitting .105 and are averaging only 9.30 kills per set. Ryann Reed leads the squad in kills per set averaging 2.75 while Tiana Dalton averages 5.56 assists per set. Defensively, Janaya Allen leads the team in digs, averaging 2.93 per set.

This will be the fourth all-time meeting between these two programs with the Blue Raiders leading the all-time series 3-0.
