EDA Board to meet on Tue 19 Oct 2021

The Columbia-Adair County Economic Development Authority will hold a Board of Directors Meeting at 8amCT on Tuesday, October 19, 2021, in the Chamber of Commerce basement meeting area at 201 Burkesville Street, Columbia, KY.

Meeting Agenda:

  • Presiding - Bobby Morrison, Chairman
  • Welcome, Call To Order, Determination of a Quorum, Pledge of Allegiance & Prayer

  • Business:
    • Approval of Minutes as presented - Kenzie Rowe, Secretary
    • Approval of Treasurer's Report as presented - Roger Meadows, Treasurer

  • New Business:
    • 1. Update on Quitclaim Deed - Kenzie and Mark

    • 2 Update on second entrance, location, topo, timeline, etc.

    • 3. Update on Synergy Food Group - Mayor Pam Hoots

    • 4. Estimate on dozing old buildings, taking down silo, dozing internal fence rows and reseeding best possible, Timeline - Need approval

    • 5. Judge Gale Cowan and Treasurer Melinda Quinn prepared form for Department of Local Government for Regional Development Agency Assistance Program for the County Board approval for EDA to receive TVA funding for the next three years. Amount for this year is $153,846.15. I just need to pull together estimates for different projects and finish filling out form. A hats off and thanks to Judge Cowan for having our request first on the agenda and probably helping inform/background members of court before meeting. It went really well and we thank you and the Court.

    • 6. Rodney Hitch has put us on tier (3/best) of engineers planning schedule firm to try to get drone flyover done before leaves fall. East KY Power/Touchstone Energy will pay 1/3, Taylor County RECC will pay 1/3 and we need to pay 1/3 - Heather and Bobby.

    • 7. Refer/comment on Adair County, KY First Impressions Program Study - can mine for thoughts of what major (info when add publish)to put on video. Rodney also recommended that make major news events of flyover, having judge, Mayor, Board, News Media, etc., at flyover. Do we want to invite pubic when date is set?

    • 8. Touchstone Energy website for discussion: http://dataispower.org

    • 9. Other Business and Comments/Questions

  • Adjourn: Next regular meeting, Tuesday, November 16, 2021 at 8amCT
