Soccer: LWC Men ready to host undefeated Georgetown

The No. 14-ranked Lindsey Wilson men's soccer team looks to continue their unbeaten run of play in the Mid-South Conference when they host (RV) Georgetown (KY) Saturday evening. Kickoff is set for 7pmCT at Walter S. Reuling Stadium, 151 Holloway Drive, Columbia, KY.

The Blue Raiders (6-1-1, 5-0 MSC) enter Saturday's game after soundly defeating Thomas More (KY) 5-0 Wednesday night.


Four different Blue Raiders scored against the Saints with Victor Cavalcante, Julien Gastaldy, Cyrus Harmon, and Nathaniel Onyina Opoku all getting on the score sheet for Lindsey Wilson.

Opoku leads the Blue Raiders in goals scored with seven in his last eight games this season. Meanwhile, Koziolek leads the team in assists with six after eight games, a career-high. As a team, Lindsey Wilson has outshot their opponents 155-62 this year outscoring them 24-11. The Blue Raiders are currently unbeaten in their last seven games and have kept a clean sheet in their last two matches.

As for the Tigers (9-0-1, 4-0-1 MSC), they're enjoying one of the best seasons in program history and enter Saturday's match after tying No. 22-ranked Campbellsville (Ky.) 1-1 to remain unbeaten.

Junior midfielder Sebastian Bocaz Canales is the inspiration behind the team's unbeaten run and leads the team in goals scored with eight in nine games this season and assists with 12 in nine games, which ties for first in most assists in the NAIA this season. As a team, the Tigers have scored 42 goals in 10 games, the second-highest total in the NAIA this season.

This will be the 39th meeting between these programs with the first meeting taking place on August 30, 1990. Lindsey Wilson is undefeated all-time against the Tigers and leads the series 38-0.
