Soccer: LWC Women prepare for unbeaten conference matchup By Christopher Webster Two undefeated Mid-South Conference teams battle as the No. 16-ranked Lindsey Wilson women's soccer team travel for a matchup against Thomas More (KY) at 4pmCT on Wednesday, October 6, 2021, in Crestview Hills, KY. The Blue Raiders (5-2, 4-0 MSC) are on a four-game winning streak since starting Mid-South Conference action. Like Lindsey Wilson, Thomas More (8-2, 4-0 MSC) is entering the match after winning four straight matches in conference play. Lindsey Wilson is coming off the heels of an upset victory over No. 6 Cumberlands (KY) in overtime. Alicia Thoresen scored Lindsey Wilson's first goal of the afternoon in the 10th minute to tie the match at 1-1. For the second game in a row, Yudaya Nakayenze scored the golden goal in the 100th minute to push the Blue Raiders past their opponent to stay unbeaten in conference action. As a team, the Blue Raiders are outscoring Mid-South Conference opponents 20-3. The duo of Nakayenze and Thoresen leads the Blue Raiders in scoring with five goals each. Emma Lindell has done a fantastic job this season with finding open teammates as she has a team-high six assists. Lindsey Wilson goalkeeper Maya Caon has recorded 31 saves, of which five came in the match against Cumberlands. Coan was named Mid-South Conference Defensive Player of the Week for her performance against the Patriots. The Saints defeated Pikeville (KY) 4-2 in their most recent outing. A quartet of Ainsley Clark, Jordan Harley, Eva Kinwel, and Sydney Rhodes scored goals for the Saints in the win. Similar to the Blue Raiders, Thomas More is heavily outscoring Mid-South Conference foes this season, 15-3. Kinwel leads the Saints offense with a team-high six goals. Assists-wise, Lindsey Brown leads her squad with four assists and goalkeeper Kylie O'Leary has recorded 33 saves along with five shutouts. Lindsey Wilson leads the all-time series against Thomas More 3-1 since Thomas More joined the Mid-South Conference in 2019. Live video and stats will be available for the match.
