Wise considering a run for Governor in 2023

According to reports from various state news outlets, Senator Max Wise is considering a run to be the Republican candiate for Governor in 2023. WLEX says that Wise was singled out as one of a couple of names "you'll be hearing a lot about" by Rep. James Comer at a Fancy Farm event recently.

Wise, a Campbellsville native, is currently serving his second term in the Kentucky Senate, representing the 16th District which encompasses Adair, Clinton, Cumberland, McCreary, Russell, Taylor, and Wayne Counties. He is Chairman of the Senate Standing Committee on Education; as well as co-chairman of the Education Assessment and Accountability Review Subcommittee.

State Senator Max Wise of Campbellsville is “thinking very seriously about running for Governor of Kentucky.” Wise said in an interview with Larry Joe Smith this morning on 99.9 The Big Dawg, "he’s spending a lot of time weighing his options and a lot of time in prayer about the possible run. Stay tuned and we will keep you posted.” Max Wise of Campbellsville was elected State Senator 6 years ago to represent Adair, Taylor, Clinton, Russell, McCreary and Wayne Counties. He was featured in the Courier-Journal earlier this week according to this link shared with CM by Dr. John Chowning.
