LWC Men's Soccer closes season with win over Georgetown

By Kyle Jackson

Georgetown, KY - The No. 14 Lindsey Wilson men's soccer team (8-2-2, 8-1-2 Mid-South Conference) closed out the 2020 regular season with a 2-0 win over Georgetown (Ky.) Saturday afternoon.

The Blue Raiders outshot the Tigers 18-6 with four shots on goal in the match. Cyrus Harmon led the Blue Raiders with four shots, three on goal, and a goal in the second half of action.

The first half was a goalless affair for both sides with the Blue Raiders outshooting the Tigers 7-4 in the opening half of play. After a frustrating 45 minutes of play, David Ibrahimkadic received a yellow card right before the half after a rough foul.

Cyrus Harmon finally broke the deadlock, scoring his tenth goal of the season, and put Lindsey Wilson in front after heading in a cross from David Ibrahimkadic into the back corner of the net. Ibrahimkadic made life even sweeter for the Blue Raiders later in the half, finishing a low cross from Neville Morgan for the eventual 2-0 final score.

The Blue Raiders finish the regular season and now await their seeding in the Mid-South Conference Tournament later this week.
