LWC Women's Basketball ready for MSC Tournament Saturday By Brady Budke Another successful year of basketball has led the No. 11 Lindsey Wilson women's basketball team to a favorable spot in the 2021 Mid-South Conference tournament. With the No. 3 seed, the Blue Raiders will face No. 6 seeded Pikeville (Ky.) on Saturday at 7:30pmCT in Bowling Green, Kentucky. LWC has claimed both matchups over UPIKE this season, winning by nine points at home back on Jan. 14, and by six points on the road Feb. 13. The Bears (14-8, 9-8 MSC) narrowly escaped past the opening round of the tournament, defeating Cumberland (Tenn.) by just three points. Pikeville is anchored by Brianna Burbridge, who is averaging a double-double of 15.9 points per game and 10.9 rebounds per game. In the recent meeting against Lindsey Wilson on Feb. 13, Burbridge dropped 21 points and grabbed 19 rebounds in the loss. She is shooting 61 percent from the field, the fourth best mark in the NAIA. As for Lindsey Wilson (18-4, 13-4 MSC), the team has not played a game since the Feb. 13 meeting against the Bears. The duo of Reagan Turner and Bree Glover continue to shine for LWC. Turner, who recently solidified herself as the top point scorer in program history, is averaging a team-high 22.5 PPG on 53.8 percent shooting. Glover has corralled the team-high marks in RPG (10.5), steals per game (1.6), and blocks per game (2.5). Live video and live stats will be available for this game. A limited number of tickets are available for each game of the tournament and will be sold online through HomeTown Ticketing at mid-southconference.org/hometown-ticketing. Each team is given an allotment of 100 tickets with a passcode. Tickets will be $15 and any unclaimed tickets prior to the game will be available with no passcode required.
