LWC Baseball ready for road battle with No. 21 Bryan on Monday By Brady Budke Riding high after a doubleheader sweep over Union (KY) on Sunday, the Lindsey Wilson baseball team is ready for its next challenge in the early season. The team is set to face No. 21 Bryan (TN) tonight in Dayton, Tennessee, in a single game beginning at 5pmCT. Live video and live stats will be available for this game. Please view the Bryan COVID-19 protocols for more information. Bryan (9-3) closes out a seven-game homestand tonight against the Blue Raiders. The Lions fell on Saturday at the hands of No. 22 Middle Georgia State, breaking off a five-game winning streak. BC brings a very favorable offense to the field, producing 107 hits and 88 runs through the 12 games played. Six different Bryan players have notched double-digit hits, led by Bass Cooper with 14. David Scoggins has launched out a team-high three home runs and 13 RBIs. From the mound, Joseph Cuomo leads the way at 25.0 innings pitched and 26 strikeouts. Jacob Hallmark has also pitched in double-digit innings (13.0) while producing 17 K's for his team. Lindsey Wilson (3-2) has lost three-straight times against Bryan, with the last win coming on March 9, 2016. Derek Zavala and Tyler Maskill serve as the top threats on offense for LWC. Zavala has notched team-highs of nine hits, seven stolen bases, and five RBIs. Maskill sits right behind with seven hits and four RBIs. The Blue Raiders have scored 38 runs and garnered 42 hits through the five games played. Brady Cappe guides the pitching for Lindsey Wilson, having thrown a team-best 13.1 innings of work while corralling 17 strikeouts in the process.
