Chamber of Commerce holds February Board meeting The Columbia Adair County Chamber of Commerce held its first in person board meeting since the pandemic changed the rules of gathering in 2020. Moving its meeting location to the lower level of the building allowed for social distancing. Membership update shows that there are 40 business members renewing and work is underway to invite all businesses and organizations to join or renew if not done already. Ellen Zornes, Executive Director, encourages every Adair County business and organization to join the Chamber as it supports local commerce and provides a network to help strengthen the economy. There will be no banquet this year, however, annual awards recognition will take place by email and awards will be delivered to winners. Present at the February Board meeting were Ellen Zornes, Executive Director; Pam Hoots, President; Wes Bryant, Vice President; Angie Cowan, Secretary; and Board members Dr. Pam Stephens, Woody Sharpe, and Linda Waggener. Absent were: Abe Cross, Joe Willis, Jelaine Harlow, Tricia Harper, Kerry Humphress, Bobby Bowe, Sherry Selby, Chris Wilson and Cindy Turner. To become a member go to the website, columbia-adaircounty.com, or call the office at 270-384-6020. This story was posted on 2021-02-23 07:15:47
