Leslie Keith Thurman, 83, Cumberland Co., KY native (1937-2021)

Leslie Keith Thurman of Louisville passed away at Norton Audubon Hospital on Tuesday, January 26, 2021, from Covid-19. He was 83 years old.

Graveside services will be held at 1:30pmCT on Saturday, January 30, 2021, at Marrowbone Cemetery.

There will be no visitation at the funeral home.


Born in Cumberland County, Kentucky on Thursday, October 7, 1937, he was the son of Herriford and Minnie Allen Thurman. He retired from Worthington Steel and spent his days collecting and repairing rod and reels and bicycles. When he wasn't tinkering in his garage, he could be found at the nearest fishing hole.

He was preceded in death by his wife of over 50 years Barbara Jean Thurman, son Keith Wayne Thurman, and siblings Kenneth, David, and Judge Walter Thurman, Martha Garrett, Louise Garner, and Lenolia Cary.

Survivors include:
  • Three children- Teresa Veach (Randy) of Indianapolis, IN, Butch Thurman (Kim) of Louisville, KY, and Lisa Robinette (Charlie) of Louisville KY
  • One Brother- Tommy Thurman of Burkesville, Kentucky,
  • Five grandchildren- Amanda Robinette (Jeremy), Brandon Veach (Kristie), Bryan Hall, Chris Veach, Michelle Dragon (Darick)
  • 11 great grandchildren; Corbin Veach, Taylor Robinette, Devyn Hall, Laynee Robinson, Addison Vaughn, Addison Robinette, Dylan Hall, Isabelle Veach, Jayde Dragon, Elizabeth Veach, and Alannah Dragon
  • A host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends
