CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. - E.J. Pavy, Title IX coordinator and assistant director of personnel services, has been named the Healthy-at-Work officer for Campbellsville University. He assumed the position Jan. 1 and will be performing the duties of the Healthy-at-Work officer in addition to his work in the Office of Personnel Services.

"E.J. has taken on one of the most critical positions in the university today," Dr. H. Keith Spears, acting president of Campbellsville University, said.

"COVID-19 has changed the way we operate at CU, and his professional guidance will allow us to do this safely," Spears said.

Pavy is taking over the position from Dave Walters, interim director of Center for Global Engagement, after Walters was named associate vice president for regional administration in December.

"This role is very much an extension of my responsibilities in the personnel office," Pavy said. "My intent for this role is to continue supporting employees by promoting transparency and ensuring compliance while garnering feedback in an effort to steadily improve our response," he said.

Jason Lawson, director of personnel services, said, "I have no doubt E.J. will excel in this role as we continue to work to keep our campus and family safe."

Pavy has worked in the Office of University Personnel Services since December 2019.

He has been employed at Campbellsville University since 2013. He has served in various positions including resident director, housing coordinator and assistant director of residence life. He has also taught as an adjunct instructor for the School of Music.

From 2009 to 2011, Pavy taught music at Metcalfe County and from 2011 to 2013 he taught music in the District of Columbia public schools.

Pavy was part of the Kentucky Music Educators Association and the National Education Association from 2009 to 2011. He served as the sole secondary vocal music consulting teacher for the District of Columbia Public School's "Teaching in Action" initiative.

Pavy received his Master of Music in Conducting from Campbellsville University in 2016 and his Bachelor of Music in Vocal Music Education from Campbellsville University in 2009.

He is in his third year of his doctoral study at the University of Louisville and is anticipated to graduate in 2022 with his Ph.D. in Educational Leadership and Organizational Development with a specialization in Higher Education Administration.

He is married to Anna Marie Pavy, director of institutional research at Campbellsville University, and they have two daughters, Olivia and Spencer, and three sons, Nazareth, Noah and Gideon.
