LWC Men's Basketball hosts Dalton State Saturday By Brady Budke The Lindsey Wilson men's basketball team is set to face its first ranked opponent of the season on Saturday, as the squad welcomes No.18 Dalton State (GA) to Biggers Sports Center, 360 Spickard Drive, Columbia, KY, with tipoff slated for 4pmCT. Live video and live stats will be available for the game. Please view the LWC Athletics Home Attendance Protocols for more information. Saturday will mark the first game of the season for the Roadrunners. Last season, DSC went 30-3 (15-3 SSAC) in the regular season before being crowned Southern States Athletic Conference tournament champions. Dalton State earned a No. 1 seed in the NAIA National Tournament, but could not make a run at the championship due to the COVID-19 pandemic cancelling the tournament. The Roadrunners welcome back a top returner in C.J. Perry from a season ago, who averaged 12.1 points per game on a team-high 80 made 3-pointers. Rodley Adjei returns for DSC this season after averaging 10.6 PPG a year ago, while Aaron Burress and Igor Stokic each bring back valuable experience to the floor in the 2020-21 campaign. As for Lindsey Wilson (2-2, 1-1 MSC), the team garnered a blowout victory over Bethel (TN) in its last outing by a final of 95-70 at Biggers Sports Center on Nov. 21. The Blue Raiders scoring is largely done at the hands of Elijah Jordan, who is averaging a team-high 16.7 PPG. Payton Cundiff is shooting 50 percent from behind the arc (15-of-30) and has tallied half the team's made 3-pointers. In the last game against Bethel, Cundiff scored 18 points on six made 3-pointers in the win. Colen Gaynor leads LWC on the glass at 8.5 rebounds per game, helping Lindsey Wilson out-rebound its opponents by an average of three per game on the season.
